Veteran’s Golf: June 14

IT was cold and foggy early but then a lovely mild, still day for golf when 30 Vets played a 2-person Ambrose event at Scone on Tuesday, June 14.

First were Graham Guest and Les Brown with net 67 from second Jock O’Connor and Graham Huggins 67.75 and Bob Keating and Red Palmer third with 68.

Welcome to new member Tommy Thompson.

Thank you Phil Ledgerwood for the well-organised shot-gun start.

In the ball comp balls went to Emil Battista and Graham Boles 68.25, Tommy Thompson and Doug Dowell 68.5, Captain Max Holz and Treasurer Bob Minch 70, Gary Gray and Bruce Robinson 70.25 and Graham Turvey and Wayne Murphy 70.5.

• On Tuesday, June 28 we play a stroke with putting medal event at Aberdeen.
• On Tuesday, July 5 we play a two ball best ball event at Muswellbrook. All hit-offs 8am till 8.30 or 8.15 for shot-gun starts.
