Veteran’s Golf: January 28

‘Twas very warm and humid on Tuesday, January 28 when 19 Vets played a stroke and putting event at Aberdeen Golf Club. The whole course is showing the benefit of the recent rain.
The Vets wish Gerrit and Pam de Boer best wishes as they move to Sydney after many many years in the Upper Hunter.
Terry Mitchell won the stroke event with nett 69 from Ross Banks 70 C/B 2nd and Wayne Murphy 3rd 70 C/B.
Balls were won by Graham Boles 70, Tony Pearson 71, Captain Phil Ledgerwood 72, Rod Upton 73, Graham Huggins and George Campbell 74 and Brian Dever 75.
The putting wine, kindly donated by Aberdeen Sport and Recreation Club, was won by Ross Banks with 26 putts. Ross also had the best scratch score with 79 off the stick.
The Bradman’s trophy, kindly donated by Gary Morley, was won by Gary Gray.
