Veteran’s Golf: Feb 16
TYPICAL February conditions prevailed at Aberdeen Golf Club today when 26 veterans played their stroke and putting event. As usual the fairways were freshly cut and in good order despite the corellas making a mess of the first green. Thanks Doug Dowell for the running repairs.
The winner with nett 64 was Wayne Murphy from Doug Dowell 65 second, Graham Boles third 66 and Len Stanley fourth 69 on a count-back.
Mal Bruce continues his fine golf with an eagle 2 on the 11th Hole today! Best scratch score: Wayne Murphy and Ross Banks 77.
The putting wine kindly donated by the Aberdeen Sport and Recreation Club went to Doug Dowell with 27 putts.
In the ball comp balls went to Graham Guest 69, Jock O’Connor and Di Thorley 70, Rod Auld and Jim Elder 71 and Ross Banks, Bob Thorley, Bruce Robinson and Reg Davidson 72.

Veteran Golfers’ Medal 2016
The following rounds count towards the medal: Scone on April 12, Murrurundi on April 26, Muswellbrook on June 7, Aberdeen June 28 and Denman August 16. The three best stableford scores are added up to find the winner.
On Tuesday, February 23 we play the 1st round of the 2016 challenge match against Henbury at Muswellbrook. Be there at 7.30 am with morning tea for the travellers, with a shot-gun start to follow at about 8.30.
On Tuesday, March 1 we play a stableford event at Muswellbrook with hit-off from 8am till 8.30.
