Veteran’s Golf: April 2

A very well prepared Aberdeen Golf Club with newly mown fairways and greens, following the wonderful rain of last weekend, greeted the 25 Vets who played a stroke with putting event on Tuesday, April 2.
Ross Banks won the handicap and the scratch events with nett 65 on a count back, and with 74 off the stick, respectively. Second was Graham Turvey 65, 3rd Jeff McKeon 66, 4th Brian Dever 67 and 5th Doug Dowell 68.
Balls went to Lindsay Hodge and Wayne Murphy 69, Kevin Warby, Rod Upton and Jock O’Connor 70 and Red Palmer and Peter Daunton 71.
The putting wine, kindly donated by Aberdeen Recreation Club, was won by Brian Dever with 28 putts C/B. The Bradman’s Trophy, kindly donated by Gary Morley was won by Jim Elder.

Future Events: Muswellbrook Auxiliaries Hospital Charity Golf Day (2-person Ambrose 9 hole Fun Day) will be held on Sunday, April 28, 8.30 for 9.00 am, open to members and non-members, costing $30.00 p.p.
