It is with extreme sadness that we today learned of the passing of one of our amazing members who has been there for our event since day one, Bobby Paton.

I wrote a post back in 2019 when Bobby resigned as Senior Vice President, a position he held many times over the years as well as a stint as President at one point and I described him as a “Stalwart” of our event, which he was.

But he wasn’t just a stalwart of our event he was also this to the many Murrurundi community organizations he was involved with and to every user group of the Rosedale complex, because without him and his work there would not be a Rosedale complex and it certainly would not be the venue it is today with Bobby, he was an amazing person.

I also said in my post of 2019 the King of the Ranges committee and event would not be the same without Bobby, and they certainly weren’t he was and will be greatly missed by everyone.

In 2019 Bobby was made the Scone and Upper Hunter Horse Festival VIP, as well as this award Bobbie was honored with being named in 2005 Australia Day, Murrurundi Citizen of the year.

Bobby was involved in many organizations around Murrurundi and held executive positions on many of them.

Some of the organizations were King of the Ranges, Murrurundi Sheep Dog Trials, Murrurundi District Pony Club, Murrurundi Rodeo, Murrurundi RSL, and a supporter of anything Murrurundi.

The team at King of the Ranges would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to Bobby’s family and friends and to let them know that we are thinking of them all at this very sad time.

Gone but NEVER forgotten.

RIP Bobby.
