Upper Hunter volunteers can apply for $5000
MORE than $130,000 of funding is available to the New England District under the 2021 Volunteer Grants round.
Upper Hunter volunteer not-for-profit organisations have until 5 pm on Wednesday, April 28 to submit an expression of interest for part of the allocated grant funding.
Member for New England, Barnaby Joyce, said grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 were up for grabs for eligible volunteers.
“Volunteers donate countless hours of their time and often pay for their own petrol and vehicle costs travelling to help out in bushfires, deliver Meals on Wheels, provide a cup of tea at Driver Reviver stops, and assist injured wildlife – just to name a few,” Mr Joyce said.
“The grants will help volunteers and volunteer groups to buy small equipment for volunteers, by reimbursing volunteer fuel, transport or training costs, or support promotional activities,” he said.
Organisations must meet the eligibility criteria and successful applicants will be announced in November.
Eligible community organisations in New England must submit their Expressions of Interest Form to Mr Joyce’s Office before 5 pm on Wednesday, April 28.
