Update: Rouchel Bushwalkers
THE Westpac Rescue Helicopter returned to Rouchel this morning to care for three bushwalkers, two males, a female and their dog who had become disorientated during their walk.
The trio were located last night in a heavily timbered area at approximately 4,500 feet above sea level and were suffering from hypothermia.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter winched in a New South Wales paramedic with survival equipment, who remained with the bushwalkers to care for them throughout the night, providing warmth and snacks until the helicopter could return at first light this morning.
The helicopter crew said the trio and their loyal dog Minnie were very grateful tot he paramedic for his company and compassion staying with them throughout the night.
