Update: Meads Creek Fire – Dec 11
YESTERDAY the Meads Creek fire alert level increased to Watch and Act due to increasing fire activity in the North-eastern corner near Hamburger Hill, including Flight Springs Road and Turnbridge Road, but by early evening it was downgraded to Advice level.
Currently the fire is listed as Being Controlled and has burnt through 11,000 hectares of the Goulburn River National Park and some adjoining private property.
Work is continuing with containment lines, using earth moving equipment and water-bombing aircraft and back burning will be conducted as conditions allow.
Ringwood Road remains closed.
