Up Stumps for Pink Stumps
SINCE the mid-1800’s two local cricket teams have held a grudge, but have finally found a small piece of common ground in the form of raising money for the McGrath Foundation.
The Belltrees and Rouchel cricket teams will be playing at the Belltrees cricket ground tomorrow in a match that not only determines bragging rights, but will also place the winner in the local cricket semi-finals.
The game starts at midday with all food and beverage proceeds being donated to the McGrath Foundation.
So while spectators are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket, deck chairs and dress in pink, they are discouraged from bringing their own picnic.
There will be a free jumping castle for the children and a closest to the pin golf competition.
The Pink Stumps at Belltrees has raised $70,000 during the previous four events and this yea they hope to raise at least $10,000.
There are 20 raffle prizes donated by generous local businesses including cartons of wine, vet packs, skin and beauty vouchers, travelling tractor sprinklers, meal vouchers, dog kennels and snake repellents.
Up for auction will be a round of golf at Ellerston, a round of golf at Cypress Lakes Pokolbin, signed Australian cricket memorabilia, car servicing and much more.
