Upper Hunter December and annual rainfall totals
THE La Niña weather event has brought a wet summer to the Upper Hunter, with annual rain gauges totalling more than 1000 millilitres in some areas.
All areas in the shire received more than 120 millilitres of rainfall during December, with Merriwa and Murrurundi receiving almost 150 millimetres and the Mount Barrington Lookout receiving more than 330 millimetres.
The Glenbawn Dam received 130.8mm during December and 856.4 mm throughout 2020.
More rain and thunderstorms are predicted for the Upper Hunter during January, with slight showers expected from this Thursday onwards.
