Upper Hunter Shire Council – Councillors
The Upper Hunter Shire Council consists of nine Councillors who are elected by the residents of the Shire every four years.
The Mayor and Deputy Mayor are elected by the Councillors every two years in September.
At the last local government election a referendum was held to change to a directly elected Mayor model, however it was not successful. See Story: Bucking the Mayoral Trend.
