Tatter Takes Dog Trick Day
TATTER is this year’s high jump winner at the Jack Johnston Memorial Day, clearing a height of 2.4 metres to the cheers of local school children.

One of his competitors tried to throw the others off the scent by giving an impromptu urine sample at the foot of the jump, but Tatter stayed on track to win.
Most small school children struggle to remember it is the Jack Johnston Memorial Day, but readily identify with ‘dog trick day’ when they can watch dog tricks, see sheep being shawn, farriers shoe horses, draught horses work, eat some freshly made damper and get up close and personal with the range of things that happen on a farm.
Trish Murray from St Mary’s primary school in Scone said it was a great excursion for children.
“Lots of the children live in Scone, but it doesn’t mean they have seen a sheep being shawn or see what a farrier does,” said Mrs Murray.
“There is also a bit if history with the draught horses at work and they all love the dog jumping; actually that’s my favourite too,” she laughed.
