Stock Report: March 8
By Stuart Sheldrake.
It has gone very dry, very quickly and it could be the ideal time to purchase cattle while the market is easing.
Yesterday saw an increased yarding of 1520, due to rapid drying conditions throughout the state and the market was cheaper across the board.
A very good line up of weaners were at the sales once again and they sold to 5 to 8 cents easier.
A fewer penning of yearling cattle were on offer compared to previous weeks.
Good yearlings were 5 to 8 cents cheaper while secondary lines were 10 to 15 cents cheaper.
Export bulls were also cheaper, plainer cows were 10 to 15 cheaper however good cows were only 5 cents cheaper.
We are starting to see good lines of weaners coming forward into the market.
A majority trading will be made up of good weaner cattle and an increase in yarding will be expected until seasonal conditions change.
