Stock Report: March 22
TODAY the sales drew a yarding of 1040 cattle with the majority weaners.
The market was firm for most descriptions and dearer in places for weaners, which sold for 5 or 6 cents dearer.
Very few heavy cattle were presented and that will probably be a continual trend.
Very few steers and bullocks to quote.
Secondary cattle were firm on last week’s quotes and not a lot of secondary cattle there either because the season has been so good there has not been many of those plain cattle about.
Over the next weeks yarding sizes will probably remain similar and if we do get general rain it will get very quiet.
Our annual live weight weaner sale and store cattle sale is coming up on Thursday, April 21.
On Saturday, April 30 we will have an inaugural, stud bull and female speckle-park sale.
The speckle-park cattle will be coming from all over eastern seaboard for the sale.
For further details there are catalogues at the McCallum Inglis office, Scone.
