Stock Report: August 14
By Stuart Sheldrake
THERE was a bit more competition in the cattle market yesterday, with a few nibbles everywhere.
There is a bit more activity happening out of the south in Victoria and Tasmania where they have had a bit of rain.
It is a bit of hope that they might come and help the market a little bit and we are starting to see a bit of that.
It would be great if it rained here, but at least if somewhere is getting it, it helps overall.
There were approximately 950 cattle were yarded in total.
It was a lighter yarding over all and a bit better quality too.
Good cows were firm, but plainer cows were dearer they were ten or fifteen dearer, but there were less about of those than what there has been.
Good trade calves were five to eight dearer and weaner were a shade lighter also.
