Butterfly Effect In Blandford
LOCAL railway worker Justine Witney was disappointed to see graffit-ridden signal boxes and decided to do something about it.
She spoke to her colleagues at the Australian Rail Track Authority (ARTC) and they worked with artists from Binary Creative to transform the signal boxes into works of art that any town would be proud to have motorists in the area see.
See images below.
The artists researched local flora and fauna to use to in the art works, blue wrens, finches and Willie wagtails were used on the first signalling box in Dartbrook and the second at Blandford used a vibrant Monarch butterflies.
Scott Chapman, general manager of asset delivery for the ARTC has he was proud to live and work locally.
“We have a big focus on being good neighbours right along the communities in which we operate in the Hunter Valley and it’s always great when one of our local team’s ideas comes to life,” said Mr Chapman.
The team will also fund another two make overs of signalling boxes during the next year.
