Showstoppers showcase their skills

THE Showstoppers Disability Services will be showcasing their skills next Thursday and Friday at their artist hub on Waverley Street, Scone.

Artwork, crafts and fashion designs will be on display and available for purchase.

“Basically I wanted to show the community what we do here . . . show their abilities,” said Showstoppers Founder, Jillian Hamling.

“Within the two hours, we’ll just be showing people around, it’s free entry and we’ve got our QR codes up for everybody to register whilst here,” she said.

“We’ve launched the three girls, into business, Cassie, Lizzie, Gypsy Rose.

“Cassie from Cassie Fisher Designs, will put on a quick fashion shown in both sessions.

“Out in the construction room, we’ll show everybody where Cassie works, where she’s up too and all her orders.”

Jill Hamling and Patricia Taylor have been working hard to set up the event, which comprises of two sessions over two days.

“It’s going to look like an art gallery,” said Ms Hamling.

“We have a teaching room where Trish shows an online small animal course and in that room I show Cassie the practical side to design,” she said.

“In the courtyard, ‘we’re going to have a table set up with cards and information of things that the do on display . . . and a few craft items to sell as well.

“I’ve been working pretty hard out in the garden, trying to pant a community veggie garden out the back.

“If the community comes and see what we’re doing, that gives the girls interaction, it just gets the community ties to us.

“You never know if it’s going to be someone who might volunteer or do something.”

• When: December 3 and 4. First session is between 9am and 11am. Second session is between 1pm and 3pm.
