Scones in Scone Recipes
TWO popular local cookbooks have been reprinted, “A Scone in Scone” and “How About a Little…Jam and Cream with your Scone.”
Lee Watts, manager of the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre said after ten years the popular books were making a come back.
“The books were popular when they were first released and the Centre continued to sell the cookbook over the years but we thought it was time for a reformat,” said Mrs Watts.
“The first of two cookbooks are not available to purchase with some fantastic recipes that have been handed down through generations,” she said.
“The second book will be available by the end of the month.
“The collections include entrees, mains, pickles, relish, a selection fo sweets and of course a few scone recipes,” she said.
“The cook book is printed in the old imperial measure with a metric conversion table included,” she said.
“Even if you are not a cook it is a great keepsake with the recipes coming from local women,” Lee Watts said.
To purchase the cookbooks visit the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre, 130 Liverpool Street, Scone, proceeds go to supporting programs and services at the Centre.
