Stockyard Report – Jan 19
TODAY’S report is provided by Stuart Sheldrake.
There were 997 cattle yarded and it was a yarding that saw some more export cattle.
A good number of bulls were penned and sold to 10-12 cheaper rates.
Cows sold at a similar rate, probably due to force of the US export market coming off.
However, there was quite a good penning of trade cattle which saw the market sell from firm to dearer rates, with some very good lines of vealers starting to hit the market, seeing strong competition, selling for stronger rates.
Quite a number of secondary cattle were also penned and they sold for firm to stronger rates and restocking cattle also sold for fully firm rates.
Restocking cattle were down on last week.
