Scone Stock Report: Sept 13
By Stuart Sheldrake
THERE was a yarding of 880, a similar offering to last week with very few cows and export cattle penned, but what was there sold to very strong rates.
The majority of the yarding was made up of light weaner cattle and finished cattle either off grain or off crop.
Light weight weaners or steers weighing 150 kilos made up to $5.08 which would be a record.
All light weight to weaner cattle it was probably 15 to 20 cents dearer and more in places.
Very few cattle 250 to 300 kilos about, just that time of year, however all good A and B muscle scored calves made 10 cents more.
Secondary yearling cattle were fully firm.
Very few feeder steers were penned however they also sold to fully firm rates.
Store cattle sale: 11am, Thursday, September 22.
On the back of this good season there will be a few cows and calves there.
