Scone Stock Report: October 17
By Stuart Sheldrake
1292 cattle were yarded today with 150 export cattle on offer, the majority of which were cows.
The best of the cows made it to 225 cents and cows overall were two to three cents dearer.
The majority of the yarding were trade cattle, a lot of good supplementary fed finished cattle were on offer and also finished cattle with a bit of weight.
Finished calves were easier on last week, store yearlings and feeder cattle were firm.
Light weaners were five to ten cents dearer on last weeks quotes with a lack of those sort of cattle available at present due to the time of year.
Good finished calves were cheaper but restockers were firm to dearer, depending on weight.
This Saturday we have our merchandise mini field day at White Park in Scone from 9am to 2pm, there is a gold coin donation for the sausage sizzle.
