Scone Stock Report: Oct 3
By Stuart Sheldrake
There was a lighter yarding today with 894 cattle because of the long weekend and the sniff of rain about, we didn’t get any but there has been a bit of rain in the north.
Few export cattle were yarded in a market that was mostly firm on last week, definitely no dearer.
It was a plainer yarding offered with a few handy calves but not many and a similar yarding of yearlings and vealers feeling the effects of the season at the moment.
Weaners steers of 250 to 300 kilos were 10 to 15 cents dearer and more for a couple of breed descriptions, yearling were also 10 cents dearer.
Trade calves were 5 to 8 cents dearer with 10 cents better in places.
Not a lot of feeder cattle were available with to few to quote.
