Scone Stock Report: June 27
By Stuart Sheldrake
THERE were a similar number to last week 792, pretty light on in a market that was firm for good quality cattle and cheaper for secondary lines.
Export cattle were probably firm on quality, it might have been a fraction softer overall, but not a lot yarded, probably 100 export all up.
There were a few handy lines of vealers and fed cattle and they sold to fully firm rates, might have even been a tad dearer in places.
There was a good run of weaner cattle for what was there, but quality is starting to drop off a bit now that we are headed into the winter months and the prices there vary in quality.
The good quality lines sold to firm rates while secondary lines they could have been five to ten cheaper, but they were for secondary lines.
There were a few grown steers and heifers with few teeth and those cattle were a bit cheaper.
