Scone Stock Report: Jan 3
By Stuart Sheldrake
445 cattle across the board were yarded due to quite a few people away on holidays.
30 export cattle were yarded in a lackluster market 10 to 15 cents cheaper, a couple of buyers were out due to still not being operational over the christmas break.
The majority of the yard was made up of good butcher calves both grain fed and milk vealers with a few weanery cattle, the market was quite strong for these descriptions.
Butcher calves were fully firm on the pre-christmas sales with weanery cattle were sold to fully firm or stronger rates.
There should be a few more about next week with the processors back in the swing of things
