By Stuart Sheldrake
Just on 1500 cattle were penned yesterday which is a large increase on the previous week with the market again being very strong.
Very few export cattle were penned with markets remaining at full firm rates.
Not as many finished cattle presented as last week with a large array of store weaners and yearling cattle.
Light cattle were very dear with anything from 120kg to 300kg selling ten to fifteen cents dearer, heavy yearling 320kg to 450kg were ten to fifteen cents cheaper but still very strong for the amount of cattle.
Grain fed and supplementry fed cattle were fully firm.
A record was reached with weaner steers reaching 466 cents.
