Scone Golf Report: Sept 15-18

It was an arduous day for the Scone golfers on Saturday, September 18. Another full field contested an individual Stableford in winds of 30km gaining to 40km and gusting to 50km! The day was kindly sponsored by Scott Shann and Duncan Yuille.
The winner with a fabulous round of 2 under par 70 for 40 points was Joel Harrison. His round included an astounding six birdies. Mac Dawson also had a fine round for 38 points to take the second prize on a countback from George Davidson who received the third place prize. The prizes extended to fourth and fifth place which went to Yvonne Palmer and Annie Woods who both had 37 points.

On Thursday, September 16 the ladies played an 18 Hole Stableford sponsored by Jodie Hinde. It was a pleasant day for golf and a great field of twenty four players enjoyed the day. Mary Ellen Brennan had a super round of 40 points to be the winner. Janie Holyman was the Runner Up with 37 points on a countback from Julie Leckie. The ball winners were: Mary Ellen Brennan 40, Janie Holyman, Julie Leckie 37, Nickie Cramsie , Yvonne Palmer 36, Lyn Banks 35, June Jukes, Kerry McLennan 34, Mandy Fisher, Sarah Howey 33, Dordie Bragg and Sally Archibald 32 points.
The Wednesday 18 Hole Medley Stableford sponsored by the Scone RSL Group on September 15, had sixteen players which allowed the allocation of two prizes. Will Druitt had an excellent round for 40 points to be the winner. Wes Boyd had good round also, shooting par to have 35 points and receive the runner up prize.
The ball winners were: Will Druitt 40, Wes Boyd 35, Paul McLoughlin, Jono Keep 33, George Campbell, Ross Banks 32, Glen Tarrant and Lyn Banks 31 points on a countback from Scott Bourke (V) and Barry Wintle.

In golf at Scone this week players can have a game at any time on Wednesday in the 18 Hole Medley Stableford competition. On Thursday September 23 the ladies will play an 18 Hole Stableford sponsored by Noreen Marshall. On Saturday September 25, the Jason Whitehead Memorial Day will be held kindly sponsored by the Whitehead Family. The event is an 18 Hole Individual Stableford and 2Ball Multiplier.
