Ann Cameron wins knockout
On an ideal morning for golf twelve ladies headed out for the start of the summer competition at Scone on Thursday November 24.
The final of the Peter and Marg Marshall singles handicap match play knockout was played also with Ann Cameron proving too good on the day for Lyn Banks.
In a high standard match, Ann played consistent golf and chipped in on 17 for a birdie to wrap up the match 3&1.
On offer for the summer season is a 9 Hole Stableford competition with an 18 hole competition in conjunction for those who wish further golf.
On a well prepared course all of the ladies played 18 holes.
The winner of the Fridge and the Frypan voucher was Kathy Robinson who had 22 points on the front 9.
Ball winners were: Sheena Carter 20, Judy Carmody 19, Ann Cameron, Noreen Marshall 18, and Fiona Groom and Wendy Clift 17 on a countback from Lyn Banks.
The 18 hole event was won by Kathy Robinson with a great score of 40 points from runner up Ann Cameron on 39.
On Thursday December 1 the ladies will play the back 9 for a Royal Hotel voucher.
The popular score on Wednesday in the Red Tee Challenge was 28 points for the top three prizes, respectively won by Brad Hockley, Jamie Catzikiris and Mitchell Casson.
On Saturday November 26 the event was an 18 Hole Stableford for George Betts’ Trophy.
On a pleasant day for golf the scores were hot, Ross Banks had 42 points to win the A Grade prize and his score was matched by George Davidson who won B Grade, Adam Russell was the best in C Grade with 36 points.
In the NTP’s Mick Alsleben cleaned up with 1.68 metres on the 2nd / 11th and with 4.45 metres on the 8th /17th.
Simon Groom won the eagles nest of 12 balls on the par 5 10th hole.
Ball winners were: Ross Banks 42, George Davidson 42, David Druce 41, Brad Hockley 39; John Roe 37, Adam Russell 36, Paul Smart 35 on a countback.
It was also the last round of the Winter Eclectic.
In A Grade Mick Alsleben was the winner from Clayton Rogers and Simon Groom.
In B Grade Alan Wood won from Brad Hockley and Scott Reid, whilst in C grade Red Palmer won from Kevin Thompson and Jim Elder.
On Saturday December 3 the Scone RSL Group Monthly Mug will be played as an 18 Hole Stroke / Stableford.
It is also Round 1 of the Summer Cup and the start of the Summer Eclectic.
Presentation Night: Golf presentation night for the men’s and ladies 2016 season will be held at also on Saturday December 3. Members will be able to purchase tickets later in the week at the Scone Sporties Club for the highlight evening for Scone golf.
