Scone Golf Report: Feb 15, 16, 18 and 19

There were some good scores for the lady golfers at Scone on Thursday February 16.
Kathy Robinson won the McDonalds voucher narrowly from Narelle Rutter on countback when they both had 20 points.
Narelle got a ball along with Marie Murray and Annie Woods on 18 and Doon MacCallum and Judy Carmody on 15 points.
The ladies are set to commence the 18 hole season on Thursday February 23 with an 18 Hole Stableford and 2B Mystery Stableford being played for Lyn Banks’ Trophy.
On Monday February 27 the Hunter River District ladies pennants commences with the team travelling to Hunter Valley Golf Course to play Cessnock.
This year there will be two scratch matches and four handicap matches played in each round.
The season will require seven rounds with further games against The Vintage, Branxton, Cypress Lakes, Muswellbrook, Hunter Valley and Singleton concluding on May 8.
In men’s senior pennants the team is doing well in equal top position and are yet to be defeated after four rounds.
On Sunday February 19 they shared the points with Cessnock at Denman.
In the fourball match play Lindsay Hodge and George Davidson had a convincing win, Tom Thompson and George Campbell had a square while John Roe and Geoff Ferguson went down.
On Sunday February 26 the team takes on Cypress Lakes at Dungog.
On Saturday February 18 the men played an 18 Hole Stableford for the Rod Spratt and Kerry Benning Trophy.
In an unusual batch of results, all winners were on 36 points!
The overall winner was David Walters, A Grade was won by Scott Shann, B Grade by Adrian Fuller and C Grade by Col Solway.
With extra NTP’s on the lucky players were Adrian Fuller 1.69m on the 2nd, Sean Constable 4.21m on the 11th and Justin Smart 2.19m on the17th.
The ball for the 8th went untouched as nobody hit the green.
Ball winners were: David Walters, Scott Shann, Adam Brayshaw, Sean Constable and Col Solway all on 36 points.
In the Wednesday 9 Hole Stableford “Red Tee Challenge” the winner was Joel Woods on 27 points while 2nd and 3rd went to George Campbell and Reagan Murray who both had 23 points.
On Saturday February 25 the men will play an 18 Hole Stableford for Simon Groom’s Trophy and it will be the final round of the Summer Shield.
For those wishing to have a social game there will be a 9 Hole 4 person Ambrose on Sunday February 26 with a 2.30pm shotgun start, this is open to golfers and non-golfers and teams can be arranged on the day.
