The ladies are progressing in the inaugural Putting Championships played using the practice facilities. The knockout event is creating interest with each match taking about 25 minutes to complete. In touring golf six ladies enjoyed the normal great hospitality and the challenge of sand greens at the Murrurundi Open day on Saturday August 17, with a few being amongst the ball winners. This week another six will contest the Newcastle District Championships played at the very difficult layout of Newcastle Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday, August 19 and 20.
