Scone Golf: May 19 – 22

On Thursday May 19 at Scone Golf Course, the ladies played an 18 Hole Stableford for the Kathy Robinson Trophy.
The windy conditions made the game difficult with the best score being 34 points by Noreen Marshall.
Sue Watts was runner up on 33, and balls went to those two plus Sarah Brooks 32, and then all on 31, Lyn Banks, Fiona Groom and Pam Manning on a countback from three others.
Annie Woods won the NTP on the 17th with a shot to 5.46 metres.
On Thursday May 26 the ladies will play an 18 Hole 4BBB Par for the GNSW Qualifier and daily trophy sponsored by Ann Cameron and Cheryl Clydsdale.
There is an individual par in conjunction. On Thursday June 2 the 4th GNSW and Monthly Medal for the Melanie’s Jewellers Trophy will be played.
Players are reminded to line up their partners for the 18 Hole Foursomes on June 9.
On Saturday May 21 the men played the annual 18 Hole 4 Person Ambrose for the Les Cottam, Geoff Ferguson, George Campbell & Lindsay Hodge Trophy.
A brilliant scratch score of 11 under meant that Sean Constable, David O’Brien, Brenan Reeves and David Walters finished with 55 & ¼ to be the winners.
In second place were David Adams, David Druce, Mick Reynolds and Guy Wilkinson 57 & ¼, with Damian Collison, Troy Collison, Tim Smith and Jake Teague narrowly behind on 58 & ½.
Balls went to the above players plus Gordon Halliday, Matt Langan, Red Palmer & Warren Styles, 59 & ¼. The NTP’s were won by Justin Smart 2.3 metres on the 2nd /11th, and by Brenan Reeves 2.44 metres on the 8th / 17th.
In the ladies 18 Hole Stableford Lyn Banks had a fine round of 40 points to be the winner.
On Sunday May 22 the Men’s Masters Pennant Round 3 was played at Kurri. The home team was far too good for the Scone players with only Ross Banks managing a square.
Next Sunday they play Merewether away.
Also on Sunday four teams tried their hand in the National Stoney Creek 3 Ball Classic round at Scone.
The results were very close in this interesting format.
The winners and qualifiers for the next round were Phil Tarrant, Graham White & Joel Woods who had 84 points.
They were closely followed by Shannon Brooks, Rob Brooks & Damien Collison 83 points, and Sandy Lettice, Glen Tarrant & Regan Murray, 82 points.
On Saturday May 28, the men will play an 18 Hole Stableford for the G&E Wilkinson Plumbing Services Trophy and on Sunday May 29, some players will head to Merriwa for the Hunter River District Sandgreens Championships.
