Scone Golf: March 8-12

AT Scone Golf Course on Saturday, March 11, an 18 Hole 2B and Individual Par was played for Sean Constable and Grant Taylor’s trophy.
In very pleasant conditions the 2Ball winners were Tom Thompson and Scott Reid when they had +13.
The runners up were Jim Elder and Stuart Dawson +10 and third place went to Simon Groom and Ross Banks with +9.
Mick Reynolds had a double when he won both NTP’s on the 2nd / 11th he was won 2.19metres, whilst on the 8th / 17th 3.05metres.
Balls were won by: Mark Hayes +4, Tom Thompson +4 , Ross Banks +4, Stuart Dawson +2, Paul Smart +2, Jim Elder +2, Brad Hockley +2, Justin Smart +1, Adam Russell +1, Jeff Harrington +1, Scott Reid +1 and Mick Reynolds +1 on a count back.
The senior pennant team played Maitland at Branxton on Sunday, March 12.
They needed a win to qualify for the HRDGA semi-finals. Unfortunately they were defeated 2 ½ match to a ½ with Mick Alsleben and Geoff Ferguson halving their match.
On Saturday, March 18, an 18 Hole Stableford will be played for Adrian Fuller’s Trophy and it will be round two of the Captain’s Trophy.
Matches in the second round of the Snyman Knockout need to be played as soon as possible.
The draw for the Kevans Knockout is on the golf notice board at the club with round one matches to be played by April 15.
It was a pleasant day for golf on Thursday March 9 the ladies played an 18 Hole Stableford for Fiona Groom’s trophy.
The winner was Lyn Banks who had a good round of 38 points.
Doon MacCallum was runner up with 34 points and balls went to those players plus June Jukes 33, Jo Brown, Trish Dunnill and Narelle Rutter who all had 32 points.
Fiona sponsored two NTP’s and Jo Brown was the lucky winner on the 2nd after a card draw when no-one hit the green, and Annie Woods also was lucky on the 17th as Fiona re-donated the prize when she finished the closest!
On Thursday, March 16 the ladies will play an 18 Hole 2B and Individual Stableford for Judy Carmody and Narelle Rutter’s Trophy.
Lyn Banks and Julie Leckie will play in the Golf NSW Senior Ladies Championship commencing on Sunday March 19 at Mudgee.
A number of local ladies Open Days are coming with the first of these being Scone’s on March 30.
A good number of visitors are hoped for from throughout the valley and beyond to play for the Manning Cup and other prizes.
Brad Hockley had 30 points to be the clear winner in the Wednesday 9 Hole Red Tee Challenge on March 8.
Clayton Rogers and Nick Taylor took the other prizes with both having 24 points.
