Scone Golf: March 5

ON SATURDAY, in hot conditions the men played an 18 Hole Stroke / Stableford for the Scone RSL Group Monthly Mug.
The winner was Warren Styles who had a fine round of 69 nett.
This also enabled him to be the A Grade winner with 39 points, whilst visitor John Haydon had 37 points to win B Grade.
Scott Lye had 38 points to win C Grade from Jayson Eather on a countback.
A super shot from the back tee on the 2nd / 11th by Geoff Barton to 0.81 metres won him the NTP and a dozen balls for the jackpot.
On the 8th / 17th Cliff Cooper’s shot to 2.33 metres was the best.
The ball winners were: Warren Styles 39, Scott Lye, Jayson Eather, Steve Morse 38, Jim Elder, John Haydon (visitor), David Walters 37, Guy Wilkinson, Sean Constable 36, Geoff Ferguson, Stuart Dawson, Scott Reid, John Roe 35, Alan Wood 34, Kevin Thompson, Luke Eather 33 and Clayton Rogers 32 on a countback.
In the ladies 18 Hole Stableford the regulars played early with the best score being by Lyn Banks who had 38 points to be the winner whilst Jo Brown won a ball with 34 points.
Next Saturday, March 12, the event is an 18 Hole Stableford for the Adrian Fuller Trophy.
It is also Round 1 of the Captain’s Trophy.
In the A Grade Hunter River District Pennant game the last round is set for Scone to play Stonebridge at Muswellbrook on March 13.
