Scone Golf: Jan 26-31
ON SATURDAY, January 30, the Scone men golfers played an 18 Hole Stableford for the Kevin Bailey Building Trophy. The winner was David Druce who had 38 points to win on a countback from Scott Shann who took the second place prize. Third place went to Derek Field who had 37 points.
The NTP on the 2nd / 11th was won by Derek Field 3.13 metres and on the 8th / 17th by David Druce 6.1 metres. Balls were won by David Druce, Scott Shann 38, Derek Field 37, John Haydon (Visitor), Col Solway 36, Paul Smart, Gary Brown 35, Scott Reid 33, Ross Banks, Alan Wood 32, David Bradshaw, John Roe, Jim Elder and George Davidson all on 31 points.
Next Saturday, February 6, a 18 Hole Stroke / Stableford will be played for the Monthly Mug. Players are reminded that round 3 of the Summer Knockout must be played by February 13 and entries for the Snyman FB knockout also close on that day.
In the ladies 18 Hole Stableford, Jo Brown had her first 18 holes for the year and had a great game to have 37 points.

In other golf during the week Scone golfers and friends enjoyed a 9 Hole 4 Person Ambrose on Australia Day. The social event was well supported and the winners were Derek and Oscar Field and Ross and Lyn Banks who finished 5 under for 29 and 3/8ths nett. They just edged out runners up Paul & Liz Smart and Charlie & Pam Manning on 29 and 5/8ths. The next social ambrose will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2016 and it is intended to hold one per month during the year.
In the Wednesday 9 hole competition played from the red tees the winner was new golfer Reagan Murray who had 24 points. Henry Wicks won the second place prize with 23 points on a countback from Cal Murray who took home the third prize.
On Thursday January 28, four ladies ventured out early but got wet while the rest of the players were cosy at home! With not enough for a competition the ladies will try again on Thursday playing the back nine for the Kerv voucher. One more week of play of the summer competition will then occur before the 18 hole season commences on February 18.
