Scone Candidate to Run
SCONE resident, David Ewings has been announced as the candidate for Country Labor in the upcoming federal election for the seat of New England.
Mr Ewings ran for the first time at the last election for the seat garnering seven percent of the vote, but federal member for Hunter, Joel Fitzgibbon MP said he has good credentials.
“I’m delighted David Ewings has agreed to again fly the Labor flag he did an excellent job at the 2016 election and he said then that he was in the for the long haul and demonstrated that today,” said Mr Fitzgibbon MP.
“He is a highly talented and well credentialed candidate and we are determined to be competitive,” he said.
“We are going to use this election campaigning for the residents of New England, because people are sick and tired of the chaos and dysfunction coming out of Canberra and they are completely over cuts to health and education,” Joel Fitzgibbon said.
On the matter of the Scone bypass and overpass Mr Fitzgibbon MP said the spin had to stop.
“Barnaby Joyce has been found out, we funded that and they are now in their fifth year of government and not a sod has bee turned, they are all spin and no action,” Joel Fitzgibbon MP said.
There will be a by-election for the seat of New England on December 2, following Barnaby Joyce being ousted from federal parliament for holding dual citizenship.
