Santa Makes Shock Announcement

TODAY Santa revealed he has to cancel his Christmas trip to Scone this year, but he promised he would send a replacement.

COVID-19 travel restrictions mean Santa can’t get his sleigh across the border safely and although he is sad to miss out on getting photos with all of the boys and girls, he thought it more important to keep everyone nice and safe. 

Santa felt so bad, he sent Lee Watts a letter from the North Pole, personally apologising to all of the children in the shire. 

Dear Lee,

As you know, visiting Scone to participate in the Scone Neighbourhood Centre’s ‘Photos with Santa’ is something I love to do each year. Unfortunately, due to the restrictions around COVID-19, I’m unable to take my annual trip to Scone to participate in the photo shoot. This situation is beyond my control and as the safety of all the boys and girls in the Shire is really important, it’s best I stay in the North Pole with Mrs Claus and the reindeers.

I really am sorry I can’t make it but I will be in Australia as per usual on December 24.

Santa hinted that he may be able to help the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre with photos this year, but he was very tight lipped on what kind of surprise he has in store.
