Rail Workers Vote Yes
THIS afternoon New South Wales rail workers voted to accept a new enterprise bargaining agreement, however there is still the possibility of rail disruption, explained Australian Rail Track Corporation chief executive officer John Fullerton.
“While there is potential for notified industrial action to go ahead, we are hopeful of being able to return to normal operations as soon as possible and running trains safely and reliably,” said Mr Fullerton.
“This has been a difficult period for our business and the rail industry generally,” he said.
“With a majority of NSW staff voting in favour of the new enterprise agreement, our focus now shifts to rebuilding and restoring confidence in rail,” John Fullerton said.
If service disruption does continue this week bus services will replace rail services in the Upper Hunter and passengers are encouraged to check the Transport NSW website before travelling: www.transportnsw.info.
