Preparing for Lockdown
THE NSW Premier has announced this afternoon that all non-essential services in the state will be closed in 48 hours.
The list of services defined as non-essential is yet to be issued, but the Premier Gladys Berejiklian said, “supermarkets, petrol stations, pharmacies, convenience stores, freight and logistics, and home delivery will be among the many services that will remain open.”
“Schools will be open tomorrow, though I will have more to say on this issue in the morning,” said Ms Berejiklian.
The Premier will be attending a National Cabinet meeting tonight and will provide more detail on the impacts of the shutdown tomorrow morning.
Earlier today the Victorian government confirmed they would push for school closures from Tuesday, regardless of the broader position of the National Cabinet.

Last week some local schools issued information to parents, recognising they some families may chose to keep children at home, if there were people in their home who had underlying health conditions and were at greater risk of the disease.
They had also begun planning for how children would be able to access online learning from home.
