Premier: Was Stay Home, Now Stay Safe
THE further easing of restrictions in New South Wales will not occur until Friday, to give the public and businesses time to adjust and ensure they are aware of how they can adapt and comply to the new regulations.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian, said while the stay at home order is lifting, the virus is just as contagious and people need to be just as vigilant in staying safe, it “was safe at home, now stay safe”.
“If any of us get too complacent, the virus will start winning again,” said the Premier.
Key information included:
- NSW will not be allowing holidays yet;
- You will be able to go outdoors for recreational activities;
- 5 people visiting will include children as well. Previously it was two adults and dependent children with no limit on the number of children. This will be changing to a total of five visitors, which includes children.
- Cafes and restaurants will be able to have a maximum of 10 people indoors, while adhering to social distancing and the four square meter rule. They will be able to have multiple groups of ten throughout the day.
The Premier and Chief Medical Officer explained they have been monitoring data from schools, funerals and other activities and felt confident the modest changes in regulations were proportionate and moderate.
The continued importance of hand hygiene, social distancing and testing was emphasised.
