Premier: Restrictions Won’t Ease In NSW Over Weekend
THE Premier has said while the national cabinet may allow for states to ease further restrictions today, however those measures will not be implemented in New South Wales before the weekend.
The Premier further explained each state has to assess their own situation, with different numbers of cases in each state, but said with the current regulation of two adults being able to visit others in their home, families would be able to visit their mother’s on Mother’s Day.
There were more than 9,400 people tested yesterday and people with even the most mild symptoms are encouraged to come forward for testing, with the aim to be 10,000 tests undertaken each day, including weekends.

The Premier said it was due to the NSW Health Minister, Brad Hazzard stepping in that families were able to have better communication with the residents and she was relieved the federal regulator was stepping in to reassess Anglicare’s licence at the facility.
Health Update:
- 9,461 people tested
- 4 new cases confirmed
- 3,047 confirmed cases
- 2,486 people have recovered
- 46 deaths in total
- 119 people are being treated
- 10 people are in ICU
- 8 people are on ventilators
Of the four new cases, one was a staff member from Newmarch House who was not on shift, one was a close contact of a known case and two cases are being further investigated.
Return Citizens
New South Wales has continued to welcome home citizens who have been overseas, with 3,500 currently in hotels in quarantine and more than 13,000 people have returned since March 29 with 31 major hotels and serviced apartments providing accommodation.
