Premier Flags School Strategy
THIS morning Premier Gladys Berejiklian said while they are planning for more face to face teaching in term two, it does not mean school will return to normal and a roster system is being considered.
In New South Wales, the first two weeks of term two will be the same as the final weeks of term one, to give educators and the school community time to prepare for a roster system.
“This does not mean that all students will be going back, this does not mean all classrooms will be full, what it does mean is that New South Wales is considering a roster system to provide at least some aspect of face to face for each student” said Premier Bekejiklian.
“But can I stress we aren’t proposing or supporting at this stage full class rooms and every single student going back at the same time,” she said.
“What we are considering are options around a rostering system which will have some students go back on a particular day to increase that level of face to face because the alternative is unfortunately students could face up to a year or longer at home and we don’t think that’s appropriate,” said Gladys Berejiklian.
