SPEEDING WITH SPEED
A 59 year old Scone man was caught speeding in a red ute, which was known to police, on Scott Street, Bingle Street and Short Street, Scone at 12:50am on Saturday.
Once police caught up to him near Barton Street, they searched his vehicle for drugs and drug paraphernalia and found cannibas and methylamphetamine, commonly known as speed.
The accused was issued an extensive defect notice for the vehicle and he will be issued a court attendance notice for drug offences.
DRIVING DRUNK IN SCONE
THIS morning, at 12:50am, a 21 man from Scone drew the attention of police when he suddenly pulled over to the kerb and stopped in Kingdon Street, Scone.
The police pulled up behind the grey Mazda and conducted a road side breath test on the driver, which returned positive result.
The man was placed under arrest for further breath analysis and taken to Muswellbrook police station, where he returned a reading of 0.101 grams of alcohol in 210 litres of breath.
His licence was suspended and he was issued with a court attendance notice for mid-range prescribed concentration of alcohol.
He is scheduled to appear in Scone local court on February 18.
DRIVING DRUNK IN CASSILIS
LAST Friday at 11pm, a 31 year old man from Dunedoo driving a grey Toyota Landcruiser was stopped for a random breath test in Ancrum Street, Cassilis and blew a positive result.
The man was arrested and taken to Merriwa police station for further breath analysis which also returned a positive result of 0.089 grams of alcohol in 210 litres of breath.
He was issued a court attendance notice, for mid-range prescribed concentration of alcohol, for Scone local court on February 18.
JUST BLEW OVER IN CASSILIS
A 43 year old woman from Cassilis returned a positive for a random breath test, last Saturday, just after midnight.
She was taken to Coolah police station for further analysis and returned a low-range reading of 0.058 grams of alcohol in 210 litres of breath.
The woman is due to appear in Scone local court on February 18.
RAN OFF THE ROAD AT MURRURUNDI
DURING heavy rain on Thursday at approximately 6:25am a 66 year old man from Muswellbrook lost control of an unladen rigid truck travelling south on the New England Highway, 300 metres south of Murrurundi 60 kilometre zone.
The vehicle crossed to the wrong side of the road and collided with a drainage culvert, rolling and crashing through a heavy wooden fence of a horse stud.
The driver was able to get out of the vehicle and was taken to Murrurundi hospital with minor bruising to his head.
