Police Update: March 13
QUAD BIKE ACCIDENT
JOHN Begg a 60 year old Blandford farmer was found deceased on Sunday morning following an accident on his quad bike.
At approximately 6pm on Saturday Mr Begg had left on his quad bike to weed spray a section of his property, but failed to return and his family contacted police.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter assisted police in their search that evening.
The search resumed on Sunday at approximately 8am and a short time later Mr Begg was found in a dry river bed with his quad bike.
The incident is currently being investigated by police.

DIESEL TRUCK ACCIDENT
AT approximately 5:25am on Sunday a 36 year old man driving Volvo prime mover was travelling east on the Golden Highway near Merriwa when he collided with railing, approximately 500 metres from the Collary Bridge, which caused a diesel spill.
Examination of the scene shows the truck was in constant contact with the armco railing for some distance before the diesel spill occurred.
Fire crews from Merriwa and HAZMAT from Mudgee were able to plug the leaking fuel tank and threw sphagsorb on the spilt diesel on the road.
