Plasticine Monsters on Grandparents Day
SCONE Grammar School opened their classrooms to grandparents today and in kindergarten the students got them to work making plasticine monsters.
Dale and Donna Moxey traveled from Cessnock to spend some time with their grandson William Gough.
“It is a fantastic day, very enjoyable,” said Mr Moxey.
“We have two grandchildren here, one in kinder and one in year four,” he said.
“I am very impressed with the school and the way they are looking after William is fantastic,” Dale Moxey said.
For William the best part about the day was “making a slimmy monster.”
Pippa Saunders had her grandfather Wayne Saunders help her make Craner the monster and said the best thing about the day for her was having grainwaves for morning tea.
“This is the first time I’ve been here for grandparents day,” said Wayne Saunders.
“My wife has been to previous days while I’ve been at work, but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being here,” he said.
“The skills and talents of the young kids at the concert were wonderful,” he said.
Margie Hart, teacher at Scone Grammar School, said the day was wonderful for everyone involved.
“It is exciting for both the grandparents and the children, you only have to look at their faces,” said Ms Hart.
“This has been one of the best days so far, we’ve had so many grandparents here today,” she said.
“Lots of people have traveled to be here, which is very special,” Margie Hart said.
