Pausing to Pamper
SOME pampering can make a huge difference to people who are struggling in our community said Lee Watts, manager of the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre and it is the reason behind the Centre joining forces with local businesses and community groups to hold a morning at the Senior Citizens Centre with support services and health and beauty services.
“There are families that have to weigh up what to pay out each month, there are farmers struggling to feed stock and there are families who do not have town water that are having to over stretch their budget to buy water,” said Mrs Watts.
“Whatever the reason we would like to offer an overdue haircut or pedicure,” she said.
“This day is to offer some time away from the pressures and raising awareness of how widespread these issues are.
“We as a community need to understand that this is often a situation that people find themselves in through no fault of their own.
“We want people in our community to know they are not alone and there are services ready to assist during their hardship.
“I would like to see people enjoy themselves on this day please with one of our businesses, Rachel’s Hair & Beauty, Boutique Beauty by Sherryn and Karen’ for feet all who are volunteering their time to give some special treatments on the day,” she said.
“There will also be a range of service providers in the areas of Mental Health, Home Care, Community Services, Youth Services, Homeless support, NDIS Planning, Disabilities, Youth Employment, Funeral services with information and to answer questions,” Lee Watts said.
