New Scone Chamber
BEN Wyndham is once again president following the new committee for the Scone Chamber of Commerce being appointed last week.
Mr Wyndham said he feels it is important to be part of the committee as the business community faces significant challenges.
“I think it is really important that all small towns and rural communities do work together when we have challenges coming up such as the bypass and the overpass,” Mr Wyndham said.
“We will continue to work with the Council on the CBD (central business district) redevelopment plans, specifically we want to work with focus groups within industry clusters so a hospitality working group, an industry working group and a retail working group to see what they need out of the redevelopment and how we can make that as good as it can be,” he said.
“We will increase the frequency of networking we’d like to run the breakfast meetings every couple of months and we’ll be seeking corporate partnerships to make them better,” he said.
“Coming up very soon we will have a Christmas shopping promotion and there will be a late night shopping event on Thursday, December 15 and we’ll be encouraging members of the Scone business community to stay open late for that and there’ll be food, drink and music,” Ben Wyndham said.
