Murrurundi Pipeline Ahead of Schedule
THE Scone to Murrurundi water pipeline is expected to be complete before mid-2020.
Testing on the 40km pipeline will begin once three pump stations are connected and 450,000L storage tanks at Wingen and Warlands Range in place.
The pump stations are designed to more two megalitres of water each day, with the water storage in the tanks regulating the pumping.
Murrurundi has been on level 6 water restrictions since mid-2018 and Council have trucked water to the town at a cost of $500,000, of which the state government has subsidised $200,000.
Council made special thanks to the pipeline contractor Leed Engineering and Construction for their work to date, including remediating land and unsealed roads impacted by the pipeline.
The pipeline is estimated to cost $14.2 million with more than $13 million from state government grants and the remainder paid for by Council.
