“The crowd was definitely bigger this year,” said Mr Murphy.
“I think because it gives people time to reflect on the people who have gone, to just take a moment and it is good that people still find it important,” he said.
“It also gives us the chance to reflect on the people who have gone to war this year and continue to go into war zones,” Craig Murphy said.
Wreaths were laid at the the RSL Sub-branch and RSL Club, the Upper Hunter Shire Council, NSW Police, RSL pipes and drums, Scone Public School, St Mary’s Primary School, Scone High School and Scone Grammar School.
Among the individuals who laid wreaths was Margaret Bussby who laid a wreath for the Boer War.
Her ancestors from the Ellerston area fought in the Boer War, her family were also in World War I and II, her son served in navy and her grandson is currently serving in the airforce.
“It is important that we remember the Boer War and the local men who fought in that war, so I now lay a wreath for them,” said Ms Bussby.
