Merriwa Fire: Search for Occupants

POLICE and Fire Crews are searching through a home which was completely destroyed by fire this morning on a property on Mountain Station Road, Merriwa, to determine if anyone was in the home at the time of the fire.

Emergency crews were alerted to the fire at 9:15am this morning and the property was described as being fully engulfed by flames.

The Rural Fire Service said it took a couple of hours to extinguish the blaze and crews are still working on site.
