More funding for Men’s Sheds
APPLICATIONS for round 21 of the National Men’s Shed Development Programme are now open until Friday, November 27.
Funding for round 21 will focus on transition into the digital age and will prioritise IT equipment and training.
Member for New England, Barnaby Joyce said funding available will help increase connectivity amongst shedders during COVID-19.
“If this health pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that we all need to do regular activities with the people around us and our local Men’s Sheds are a key part of that,” Mr Joyce said.
“I urge all Men’s Sheds in the New England to apply for a share of these grants to help keep minds sharp and our communities stronger together, through good times and bad,” he said.
Men’s Sheds funding categories:
- Category 1: Health, Wellbeing, and Events $8,000 maximum;
- Category 2: Shed Improvements $8,000 maximum;
- Category 3: Equipment $5,000 maximum.
Grants will also target projects with strong health, wellbeing or safety emphasis, in acknowledgement of the impact of COVID-19 and the needs of Sheds in the recovery period and beyond.
