Local Travel Agents Big Winners

LOCAL travel agency Helloworld has won the best retailer of the year for NSW and the ACT last week at the Helloworld Travel 2017 Owner Managers Conference at the Gold Coast.

They won the award on a points based system from 88 stores across the state with criteria including excellence in best practice, customer focus, service delivery, sales, store presentation, reporting, training and more.

Rachael McGuirk, Assistant Manager at the Scone store was representing the team at the conference and was taken by surprise when the store was announced the winner.

“We were nominated along with five other offices which include some very big Newcastle, Sydney and Canberra offices so it was very much a surprise, I went along thinking we had no chance of winning,” said Ms McGuirk.

“We have worked really hard over the last twelve months with a few big personal tragedies, we were running as a really good team and we are carrying on, you come to work and work really hard to do the best for your clients,” she said.

“For us it is a real confidence boost that we are doing the right things and that we are on the right track, we are doing online training as well as attending courses to further our knowledge so we can offer the best we can to our clients,” she said.

“It was a real acknowledgement that all the hard work and effort that you put in is worth it,” Rachael McGuirk said.
